Jennifer Shippole is a Partner at Gunther Legal and has been a practicing lawyer for over 25 years. She is concentrating her practice at the firm on multi-party construction defect litigation. Ms. Shippole has a broad and diverse background in civil litigation, including high exposure cases involving maritime law, auto negligence, premises liability, products liability, and commercial disputes in both federal and state courts. Ms. Shippole has tried numerous cases, including high exposure and complex matters. She prides herself on moving cases in a direct and purposeful manner towards a cost-effective and advantageous resolution for her clients.
Early on in her practice of law, Ms. Shippole defended a well-known punk band in a personal injury case arising out of injuries sustained in a mosh pit. She was also involved in the Ford rollover cases and the Taurus Holdings gun safety class action. In addition, Ms. Shippole has defended many maritime cases taking her to quite a few ports of call. Significantly, she was an active part of the defense bar addressing insurance fraud in Miami-Dade County in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
During her time at Villanova University School of Law, Ms. Shippole served as the Editor of Outside Articles on the Villanova Environmental Law Journal and was also a member of the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Team. She also had the honor of serving as a law clerk for the Chief Magistrate Judge, the Honorable Richard A. Powers, III, of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Florida as well as an intern for the Securities and Exchange Commission. Ms. Shippole also found time in law school to volunteer her services to help unhoused individuals and families with the Homeless Advocacy Program and serve on the board of the Women’s Law Caucus. Ms. Shippole engaged in studies abroad in Innsbruck, Austria through St. Mary’s University School of Law/St. Mary’s Institute on World Legal Problems, taking classes from Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Martin Ginsburg, and L. Wayne Scott. Showing her capacity for hard work and suffering, Ms. Shippole has also completed over 20 triathlons, the longest of which was a half Ironman.
