Racquel Hylton is a Partner at Gunther Legal, PLLC whose practice is focused on automobile and commercial trucking liability defense. She represents motor carriers, commercial drivers, and insurers in pre-suit and litigation matters arising from motor vehicle accidents, including complex commercial trucking claims. Ms. Hylton provides strategic counsel from case inception through resolution, with an emphasis on early liability analysis, damages evaluation, and proactive litigation strategy.
Prior to concentrating her practice in transportation and auto liability defense, Ms. Hylton handled a broad range of civil litigation matters, including premises liability, wrongful death, negligent security, general negligence, and first-party property claims. She has significant experience managing cases through all phases of litigation. Her experience as in-house trial counsel for a national insurance carrier further strengthened her ability to develop structured litigation strategies while maintaining comprehensive client reporting and case management responsibilities.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Hylton served as an Assistant Public Defender in Broward County, where she represented clients charged with offenses ranging from misdemeanors to first-degree felonies. In that role, she tried cases in both county and circuit court and managed a high-volume caseload. This extensive courtroom experience sharpened her trial advocacy skills, strategic thinking, and ability to navigate high-pressure litigation environments; skills she now applies in defending transportation companies and insureds in complex civil matters.
Ms. Hylton earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida, where she became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She received her Juris Doctor from Florida A&M University College of Law in Orlando, where she was a member of the Workers’ Compensation Moot Court Team and participated in the Criminal Defense Clinic.
